BMX Matures...1983-1985

A new location and a new track is born...

BMX gains popularity and we suddenly have 120 riders...

MASSIVE doubles on 2nd straight of the Raquetime track. (This is just a big empty parking lot now, right next to the Rehabilitation Society Building)...OK, the doubles aren't THAT big.

The really cool Over/Under corkscrew bridge that served as turn number 2...

Team competitions were big back in the day...

One jump per straightaway was pretty normal back then...

The years spent at the Raquetime location probably accounted for the highest rider counts and biggest Regional races we've ever had...BMX's popularity did continue over to the next era (and track), but racer numbers soon started to decline with the growing popularity of BMX Freestyle and Mountain Biking....

The finish line flag was a nice touch and went well with the shorts and socks ensemble...
